Visual Development
At PIXM, Visual Development begins long before the first frame is shot. Our artists help filmmakers explore ideas, establish tone, and define the creative direction of a project. From early look studies to detailed visual explorations, we assist in shaping concepts into production-ready design language.
We support directors and creators with concept art, mood boards, style frames, environment ideas, and visual reference generation, ensuring a strong creative foundation for the VFX pipeline. Our visual development team works closely with production to maintain consistency and guide the look of sequences throughout the project.

PIXM Previz
PIXM Previs helps productions plan shots, sequences, and camera movement before stepping onto set. Our previs artists visualize complex ideas, action design, timing, and shot flow, giving directors and cinematographers a clear roadmap of what needs to be captured.

From storytelling beats to technical feasibility, our previs process ensures creative clarity while preparing the VFX, art, and production teams for efficient execution.

Technical Visualization
Through Techvis, we break down complex sequences to determine what is practically achievable on set. We analyze camera moves, set dimensions, timing, tracking requirements, and other production considerations to support decision-making.
Techvis helps ensure that every department —from camera to lighting to VFX is aligned on technical requirements to avoid costly surprises during the shoot.

Virtual Art Department
PIXM’s Virtual Art Department works with modern real-time tools to assist in early set design, environment development, and virtual scene exploration. We help productions visualize digital sets, scout locations virtually, and plan scenes before physically building anything.

Our team uses Unreal Engine and 3D tools to produce early layouts, environment mockups, and lighting tests supporting directors, cinematographers, and production designers with accurate visual references.
PIXM’s Virtual Art Department blends artistry and real-time technology to help filmmakers visualize environments long before stepping onto a physical set. Working in Unreal Engine and modern 3D tools, our team designs early environments, explores digital set options, and builds layouts that help determine what will be practical and what will be created digitally.

We capture real locations, scout virtual spaces, and develop preliminary environments that allow directors and DPs to evaluate scale, lighting, and creative possibilities. This early exploration helps remove uncertainty during production and aligns creative and technical teams from day one.

Our VAD collaborates with previs, art, and VFX departments to give filmmakers a clear blueprint for every sequence. This process creates familiarity with the world, leading to smoother, more confident production days for the entire crew.
